Pokemon Stadium 2 Nuzlocke Guide
This repository contains everything you need to start your own Pokemon Stadium 2 Nuzlocke using Pokemon Crystal.
Requirements
Before you begin, ensure you have the following:
- Game Boy Color Emulator – For this setup, I personally used the latest version of Visual Boy Advance (VBA).
- Pokemon Crystal ROM – You will need a valid ROM file. (I cannot provide links, but Google is your friend.)
- Pokemon Crystal Save File (.sav) – Create this by booting up Pokemon Crystal and saving in-game. Save states will not work.
- Nintendo 64 Emulator – Project 64 is recommended for emulating Pokemon Stadium 2.
Getting Started
- Open VBA and load Pokemon Crystal.
- Play the game normally, catch your Pokemon, and progress as needed.
- Use in-game save (not save states) and close VBA.
Importing Your Team into Pokemon Stadium 2
- Open Project64.
- Navigate to:
Options
> Input Settings
Controller Pak
> Enable RawData
- Select Transfer Pak from the dropdown.
- Two options will appear:
- GB ROM File – Click browse, locate your Pokemon Crystal (.gbc) file, and open it.
- GB Save File – Click browse, locate your Pokemon Crystal (.sav) file, and open it.
- Click Use, then Save.
- Boot up your Pokemon Stadium 2 ROM – the emulator should now recognize your Transfer Pak, allowing you to use your Pokemon Crystal team.
Recommended Cheats
To speed up the process, you can use Gameshark cheats in VBA:

Additional Notes
- This setup allows you to transfer your in-game Nuzlocke team into Pokemon Stadium 2 for additional challenges.
- Cheats are optional but can be useful for fast-tracking.
